The Junior Rose Festival Parade

Yesterday on June 3rd the kids, Uncle Brian and I decided to go to a parade. Oregon every year has the Rose festival. So for 3 years now I have gone with my daughter and Grandma. Last year we had Grandpa and newborn Anthony join us. This year was fun because Amanda is at an age were she understands what is going on and can fully communicate what she likes and doesn't. Anthony on the other hand is a HUGE hand full.

I have a monkey backpack which has a tail to hold onto so you do not lose your child. I believe that monkey will be his friend for quite a while. Let me explain. Amanda had a lot of health issues when she was born. She did not start walking by herself until she was 18 months old with the help of orthopedic inserts. So for that whole time before hand she would walk every where holding our hand because that was how she balanced. I feel that made it very easy for her to like holding hands. Anthony on the other hand started walking at 11 months. He just took off and at times can not be stopped.
If I try and lead him somewhere and he does not want to go he will squat down as far as he can and just look at you. I feel as if he is telling me " fat chance I'm doing anything I don't want to".

Anyway yesterday after the parade we came straight home. My brother and I brought both children in and I literally had to carry my 3 1/2 into her room and had her asleep within 5 minutes of getting home. Today again she took a nap so the heat from yesterday must have REALLY knocked her out.

Today Portland had weather that took temp from 81 to 61 in 2 hours. I was driving 205 and with the black sky and the wind I was preparing to see a funnel cloud touch down and/or the wind blow a semi truck over on the freeway.
